New Berlin, New York: The UFO Landing and Repair Case of 1964 On the early morning of November 25, 1964, near New Berlin, New York, a young 20-year-old woman, stepped outside onto the porch. It was an especially clear night outside, and she began to look at the stars. The womans husband was away on a hunting trip with his dad, and she was spending the night with her mother-in-law. As she stood outside she noticed a bright light approaching at low altitude. Her mother-in-law had gotten up to use the bathroom, and she called to her to come and take a look. By the time her mother-in-law had joined her the light was only several hundred feet across the road in front of the house, and at one pointed hovered in the air. She felt as though she were being watched. They both did, it was determined later. The object produced a kind of low humming noise. A car slowed down to watch, then stopped, and after awhile drove off, burning rubber. The object backed off and landed on the side of a mountain an estimated 3800 feet away. The mother-in-law produced a pair of binoculars and she began to observe what was going on. Meanwhile, a dog in the house seemed frightened and was actually shaking. Through the binoculars the young woman could observe men near the lighted object, walking around it in a semi-circular movement, as though walking around a round or circular craft. But she was unable to see the actual shape or appearance of the object because it gave off such a bright light, even brighter she said than a mercury vapor lamp. The men were carrying boxes, what she later determined were tool boxes. In one instance, she saw two men carrying one box. The men seemed to have wrenches and screw drivers, that apparently they took from the boxes, and the were working on something. After a few minutes, another UFO flew in from the west southwest and landed just above where the first UFO was. Four or five men joined the others already working and seemed to lend assistance. They had what looked like dark sections of cable that they we cutting into smaller sections, and appeared to be using to repair or fix something. They seemed to be working on a motor or something that had been removed from the center. The men appeared normal except, based on bushes nearby, she judged their height at 6 _ to 8 feet tall. They were dressed in what resembled dark divers wetsuits. Their hands were visible from the wrist part of the suits, and their heads were also exposed. Their faces looked normal, and their hair was neatly groomed. The mother-in-law looked briefly through the binoculars, and confirmed what her daughter-in- law was observing, but handed the eye glasses back to her, obviously disturbed by what she was seeing. Both women did not call any authorities. They just wanted the men to get done with what they were doing and then leave. The young woman was convinced that the men somehow knew she didnt call anyone. The first UFO had landed around 1 a.m. At about 4:55 a.m. the second UFO left, departing to the west southwest, and then a minute later the first UFO rose straight up and then soon shot off in the same direction. Repairs had apparently been completed and were successful. References: 1. UFO Landing and Repair by crew, two parts, written by Ted Bloecher. Flying Saucer Review, Vol. 20, No. 2 and 3, 1974. 2.
