The Abduction of Kathy and Cindy — Part 1 of 2

(Washington State, Labor Day weekend 1975)

From the Files of U.F.O.C.C.I (UFO Contact Center International)

INTRODUCTION

The following report records the facts in an alleged UFO abduction case involving two sisters in Washington State on Labor Day weekend 1975. To protect the family, the names have been changed but the essential data of the case is reported. For this report we shall call the two sisters Kathy and Cindy. Kathy was 16 and Cindy 15 at that time. Since then Kathy has married and has a child. Cindy has had a very traumatic time as a direct result of that abduction. Since the abduction occurred she has been hospitalized several times, gone through hypnotherapy, and at the present time has returned to a normal family life.

Phenomena Research Director Robert J. Gribble, and investigator Jacob Davidson, made the initial investigation in 1976 and subsequent follow-up in 1978 was done by Dan and Aileen Edwards, (then) directors of the UFO Contact Center.

At the initial interview it was decided to first hypnotize the oldest girl Kathy. This session was witnessed by Davidson, Gribble and the girl’s mother. Kathy was led through a basic outline of what happened, and instructed not to remember. An attempt to hypnotize Cindy was made unsuccessfully. This session was conducted by [name whited out], a hypnotist in Seattle, Washington.

The hypnotherapist that handled the case in 1979 is located in Everett, Washington. He is a clinical hypnotist and devotes spare time to UFO research.

It was learned that the parents had told a family friend, who is a minister, about this and he advised the girls to forget it, that it was evil. Both girls felt after that that the devil had something to do with their experience. Both had recurring nightmares about what had taken place.

The youngest girl would not talk about what had happened, claiming that if she did, something terrible would happen to her, not knowing what, or when. Her health continued to deteriorate and she entered the hospital for treatment in 1977 for a perforated colon and acute colitis. Once a year, she went to the hospital and on the last two occasions (June and December 1978) she was given blood transfusions as she was hemorrhaging internally. Only after the doctors had given up and she was given morphine to kill the pain and many bottles of pills to tranquilize her, was she allowed to go home. After that her parents called Dan and Aileen once again for help. The only reason for her condition the doctors said was “something traumatic had happened to her.” At this point the Edwards interviewed Cindy on 11-17-78 with her mother and father present.

The interview was cut short halfway through by the apparent traumatic condition of the witness. Shortly after that she returned to the hospital for her third visit. It was a repeat of the previous visit with blood transfusions and extremely strong tranquilizers. We later learned that she asked for these so she would not remember what had taken place. A certain portion of the abduction was kept apparently hidden in her conscious mind even through hypnosis because of the fear involved in what had happened.

It was agreed by the parents and investigators the case would not be pursued until after such time that Cindy would be able to go through hypnosis without being affected so harmfully.

Within a month of the last visit to the hospital she began hypnosis. The first session took place on December 26, 1978, three years after the abduction took place.

The paragraphs immediately following are the conscious memories of the parents and those of the girls, followed by the subconscious memories obtained through hypnosis. Unfortunately, the very last session is not recorded de to th confidentiality requested by the witness Cindy.

THE ABDUCTION

Father’s Memories:

On the last evening of the Labor Day holiday weekend, the parents and children were getting ready to return to their home from their cabin near Mt. Baker. The time was approximately 10:30 p.m. The evening was clear and beautiful. As the father approached the car he noticed that he had a flat tire. When he opened the trunk to get te spare out he saw that half of the air had leaked out. This was very disconcerting because they had to return over a mountain road with an uncertain tire. Kathy, Cindy, and their small dog were following in another car, a 1973 Chevrolet Impala. Kathy was driving with Cindy the passenger. Once the parents started they did not want to stop until they reached the pavement where there was a chance of getting help from a passing motorist. The pavement began approximately 7 miles from the cabin.

Both cars set out together but the parents’ car pulled away from the girls’ car early on. The condition of the road made it impossible to travel faster than 30 mph. The road was twisty and hd ruts and holes in it. The road was covered with fine dirt that settled on everything. Both cars had been washed at the cabin on the weekend, but became dirty right away while traveling over the road.

The father noticed, while traveling down the road, a white luminescence up ahead, but did not pay much attention to it. As they neared the pavement, the girls’ father, mother, and brothers saw a completely white “van” cross in front of them, stopping in front of an entrance to a roadside park. It was so illuminated that they all stared in amazement. There were no noticeable markings on the van, such as license plate, trade name, etc. What made it stand out was that it was so clean. This was unusual due to the dirt flying through the air from the road. The other thing that drew their attention were the huge windows.

At this point the mother was getting very worried about the girls as she had not seen their headlights for what seemed like 10 minutes. They decided to pull off and wait for the girls. When the girls finally caught up with the parents one of their brothers flashed a big flashlight in their eyes as they came along side the car. This upset the girls and they told him to quit. At this point, the parents pulled onto the road and continued towards their home. They did not see the girls again until the girls returned home. What was an almost uneventful trip to the parents (except for the “too clean van”) turned out to be the most dramatic night of the girls’ lives.

THE GIRLS’ MEMORIES:

When the parents pulled ahead after leaving the cabin the girls noticed a football shaped object that was as “big as a house.” The object was blue, yellow and green. All of a sudden, it pivoted down toward their car. The whole area was illuminated yellow by the object. The car, which was blue, turned yellow like daylight. At the gravel pit the object emitted beams that came down over them. The beams were red, green, and yellow. Cindy noticed two little red “bombs” descend from the object. During this time, by the gravel pit, the object came right over the car and the beams were just a few feet in front of the car.

The car kept moving along and just before the first bridge the car stopped running. During this time the girls heard flute music in the car. They could not figure out where it was coming from, and it sounded like it was an octave higher than a regular flute. Another thing that was very unusual was that the girls were being extra polite to each other although they always bickered whenever they were together.

Kathy noticed that she didn’t have to talk to Cindy because Cindy would know what Kathy was thinking. To test this, she asked Cindy for a cigarette from over the visor although Kathy had several different brands, Cindy handed her the brand which Kathy was thinking of.

When they turned on the radio, they heard the same songs which they imagined they would hear.

All of a sudden they became very cold and tired. Kathy decided to turn the heater on to get warm. When she did, a blast of cold air came out.

When Kathy looked in the rear view mirror everything in the car was white, including herself. She said she looked like an albino without any coloring to her hair or eyes.

When the craft was directly over the car, Cindy saw fluorescent green eyes on the window staring at her hypnotically. The eyes were three tones of green: light green, medium green and dark green but with no distinct pupil. Kathy could only see one because Cindy was between her and the eyes. Cindy started screaming about the eyes and Kathy told her not to look at them but she said that Cindy completely ignored her like she was not aware of anything but the eyes.

The next thing they noticed was that the dog was gone. It had been in the front seat between them. They looked in the back seat for the dog. All of a sudden the dog reappeared in the back seat. The dog was acting very strangely. Since that night the dog’s personality has changed. It used to love to be held and now it will have nothing to do with anyone and especially will not be held.

After the dog returned Kathy looked over to say something to Cindy and Cindy was gone. Kathy felt with her hand all over the car but Cindy was nowhere to be found. By this time, Kathy got the car started again, but before she came to the next bridge the car stalled again, only now Cindy reappeared next to her in the car. At this time, Kathy noticed thin strips of light going through the car from the back window to the front window. As they would pass she heard a sound like wind. The rays were red and blue and yellow and they passed right through the girls. The girls thought they were cars passing through them. The scene appeared over and over again. At this point, Kathy could not control the car. It did not respond at all and seemed to have a will of its own. The road appeared to become very smooth and they didn’t notice any bumps at all.

The car started moving again and the girls felt that they were being forced to crash into a tree (which never happened). Finally, they saw the white van beside the road. It was illuminated so much that it looked “weird” to them. While passing by it, they saw two beings inside standing up and doing something to dials on an instrument panel up above the windows. They could not understand why the van was so clean, no dust at all, nor did they notice markings of any kind. Kathy and Cindy both noticed how unusual the beings appeared, both with white hair to their shoulders and white uniforms of some kind. Even though they never saw them, they felt they had blue eyes.

After passing the van and catching up with their parents’ car they all started on their way again. The parents again pulled away from them. Cindy could still see the green eyes on the window and they remained there until they got home. A year after this incident happened Cindy could still see the green eyes on the window. She refused to ride in that car again.

Not long after meeting the parents, the girls stopped at a little store along the way to get more cigarettes as Kathy was so nervous she smoked all the ones in the visor. They pulled into the parking lot and a friend of theirs who had been at the cabin pulled in behind the girls. He and his parents had left 30 minutes before the girls.

The foregoing is a compilation of the conscious memories of both girls.

Upon arriving home the father was amazed that the girls’ car did not use any gas. The father’s gas tank was empty and the girls’ tank was full. From the cabin to their home was a two hour drive and should have used mot of the gas in the tank.

Both Kathy and Cindy were very upset when they got home. Cindy went downstairs to her room. Kathy told her father what happened and he immediately made Cindy come upstairs and tell him what she thought happened. She told him and he did not believe her experience. At this, Cindy went to her room and tried not to talk to anyone about the experience again. However, such good fortune was not to be. In the following transcript we shall relay what actually happened during that holiday evening in September 1976, according to the hypnosis sessions that took place three years later.

Cindy’s First (Hypnotic) Session, December 26, 1978

Hypnotist: You are very comfortable and easy. Do you remember the time you were traveling on the road coming back with your sister, coming back from the Labor Day weekend? It was about 1975, wasn’t it?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: In order to help you, we are going to take a look at all of these things again, take a look at all of these things we find and see. Do you remember the incident of the car stopping at the bridge, don’t you? Can you tell me first, how long you stopped? First you went by the gravel pit didn’t you?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: And what happened at the gravel pit that was significant?

Cindy: I saw the light.

Hypnotist: You saw the light? OK. Then how long was it after you left the gravel pit that you came to the first bridge?

Cindy: It seemed like a 5 minute drive. But it seemed like 15 minutes.

Hypnotist: It seemed like a 5 minute drive but it seemed like 15 minutes?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: In other words, it was longer than it was supposed to...

Now as you go deeper your mind becomes clearer as we talk. Remember that you explained to me last time that you remember that somehow after you saw the green eyes then something else happened. Can you tell me what else happened? Something appeared or someone appeared beside the car window. Tell me about that.

Cindy: There was a green guy. He had green eyes.

Hypnotist: Was the window rolled down? Do you remember rolling it down?

Cindy: The window was gone.

Hypnotist: Somehow it was open, is that right?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: And what happened then?

Cindy: Everything got mixed up with everything else.

Hypnotist: How did that seem? Was things happening at the same time or in a jumbled order or what?

Cindy: They happened separately but it all seemed like the same time. First the light hit us when we were passed all the bridges.

Hypnotist: What was that light?

Cindy: The yellow light lit up the whole car.

Hypnotist: The inside too?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: OK. Then what happened?

Cindy: We weren’t ourselves anymore.

Hypnotist: Did you feel like you were somebody else?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: You also mentioned when we talked last time that you felt you were somebody else at the same time. Do you remember that now?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: Tell me about that.

Cindy: When he was by the door...that wasn’t me at all. That was a little white room(?)

Hypnotist: That was another place too?

Cindy: Uh hum.

Hypnotist: OK. I want you to look and see the little white room. OK. What are you doing there?

Cindy: I am lying on a table.

Hypnotist: You are lying on a table. How big is the table?

Cindy: Just a little bigger than me where I am laying.

Hypnotist: Bigger than you?

Cindy: Barely.

Hypnotist: Alright, look carefully around that room. You can see around the room right now, can’t you? Describe some of the things that are in the room.

Cindy: There is a tube.

Hypnotist: What does that tube look like it is made of?

Cindy: Looks like glass.

Hypnotist: Looks like glass. Is there anything inside of it?

Cindy: No. Two counters.

Hypnotist: Two counters?

Cindy: Um hum. There is a door where the long counter is. On the other side of the room I didn’t look.

Hypnotist: You didn’t look on the other side? Are you sure?

Cindy: I am sure.

Hypnotist: Alright, on which side of you is the long counter, which side would it be?

Cindy: On my left side.

Hypnotist: Is your head facing towards a wall or is it away from a wall?

Cindy: I am looking at the ceiling mostly. But then I look over and I saw the other door.

Hypnotist: Um hum. Is your head toward the wall or away from the wall?

Cindy: I am kinda angled toward it, not very far.

Hypnotist: Not very far? Your head is not very far from the wall?

Cindy: I am not really looking at it. I am just looking at te wall and the ceiling.

Hypnotist: At the wall and on the ceiling? What is on the ceiling. Look at it carefully and see what it looks like. Does it look like any ceiling you have ever seen before?

Cindy: I don’t know....it is just white....it looks like white metal only it has one light that I can see. It is above the table.

Hypnotist: It is above the table where you are?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: OK. Now there is a glass tube there? Does it look like a glass tube? How long is it?

Cindy: It is hard to tell.

Hypnotist: Do you think it is a foot longer or what?

Cindy: More than a foot.

Hypnotist: Is it taller than you can reach with both arms?

Cindy: I can reach the top of it if I was...it isn’t....it’s probably...It’s on the counter and it just barely misses the ceiling.

Hypnotist: It is sitting on the counter?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: You said before it is sort of like a test tube. Alright if it is like a test tube and it is up towards the ceiling, what is holding it? Test tubes don’t usually sit up on their ends, do they? What is holding this one up?

Cindy: Nothing.

Hypnotist: It just sticks up out of the counter?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: It just sticks up out of the counter. Is the bottom of it rounded or flat or what?

Cindy: Rounded.

Hypnotist: It just seems to be sitting on that...

Cindy: Just sitting on it.

Hypnotist: OK. What are they doing with you?

Cindy: They are just writing things down.

Hypnotist: How many of them are there?

Cindy: Three.

Hypnotist: How do they look? Look carefully at one of them.

Cindy: They have white hair, ind of long faces. They move the same. One is a girl.

Hypnotist: How can you tell that one is a girl?

Cindy: Because she looks differently. I just know.

Hypnotist: Who is doing the writing?

Cindy: She is.

Hypnotist: What does it look like? How do you know she is writing?

Cindy: She’s got something that looks like a tablet, there is a stick sticking out. I can’t see what she is doing but you can tell she is writing something.

Hypnotist: Does it look like she is taking notes?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: Is she holding on to the tablet with one hand and writing with the other?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: Why do they have you there?

Cindy: I can’t see.

Hypnotist: OK. Go to the next moment when they do something with you.

Cindy: They do something with my leg.

Hypnotist: Which leg?

Cindy: My left leg.

Hypnotist: OK. What do they do to it?

Cindy: They are scraping something.

Hypnotist: What part of the leg?

Cindy: Part of my thigh. Middle of my thigh.

Hypnotist: Middle of your thigh? OK. Do they scrape the skin?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: Are you wearing clothing?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: How did they get to the skin through the clothing?

Cindy: They opened it or something.

Hypnotist: What kind of clothing are you wearing?

Cindy: It is tweedy silver.

Hypnotist: That is not the clothing you wore in the car is it?

Cindy: No.

Hypnotist: How did they get you into that suit or in that clothing?

Cindy: I was just in it.

Hypnotist: Well somehow you had to get into it, didn’t you?

Cindy: I don’t know. I was just there.

Hypnotist: You don’t remember getting there? OK. I am going to count to three and you will remember a little more about how you got there. One....two....three...alright.

Cindy: I think that light brought us. The yellow one.

Hypnotist: OK, it brought you. Where did it bring you?

Cindy: Up to that ship.

Hypnotist: OK. Where did you land?

Cindy: Two places. In that room and then I was by that door.

Hypnotist: You were by the door of the ship? What does that door look like?

Cindy: It looks like a regular door but it is kind of curved.

Hypnotist: How do you mean it looks like a regular door? Does it have a door knob?

Cindy: No. It opened like a regular door but it had a button. It is shaped like a regular door but it is curved because the ship is curved.

Hypnotist: Does it swing in and out when it opens, or what does it do?

Cindy: It slides.

Hypnotist: Back into the wall? Did you see it do that?

Cindy: Hmm. I don’t remember.

Hypnotist: But you knew it slides back into the wall.

Cindy: Um hum.

Hypnotist: Now you remember that I told you when I counted to three before you would remember about how you got into that clothing.

Cindy: I was just in them when I got there. I guess when I went up they just changed.

Hypnotist: OK. Were you frightened?

Cindy: I don’t know. I was curious. I didn’t have time to think about it. It just happened so fast.

Hypnotist: Let’s see. They scraped your leg when you were lying on the table. Go back to the table now. Did they cut it or what did they do?

Cindy: They took like a razor.

Hypnotist: Like shaving it? What did they do after they did that?

Cindy: They put it in a plastic bag.

Hypnotist: Was it clear? Could you see through te plastic or was it solid or what?

Cindy: It was clear. Well not clear. It was kind of a whitish color. You couldn’t see through it.

Hypnotist: What else did they do?

Cindy: They cut my hair.

Hypnotist: How much?

Cindy: An inch. Not very much.

Hypnotist: What did they do with that?

Cindy: (Can’t understand the tape)

Hypnotist: What did they say to you?

Cindy: They didn’t talk.

Hypnotist: But they gave you to know something, didn’t they?

Cindy: I always knew what they wanted me to do.

Hypnotist: They made you to understand somehow?

Cindy: I just always knew. They never said anything. They would just think it and I always knew.

Hypnotist: OK. Did they talk among themselves? Did they make any sounds among themselves?

Cindy: They didn’t say anything.

Hypnotist: They could understand your thoughts too somehow?

Cindy: They had to know.

Hypnotist: Tell me about that.

Cindy: If I thought that I would go back down. They would tell me that they were there or something or they weren’t going to let me go. Cause if they knew that I couldn’t do that because they would know if I told.

Hypnotist: Do you think they would know if you told?

Cindy: Yes.

Hypnotist: So what happens then?

Cindy: I just don’t think about telling anybody anything. They just keep going and doing what they are doing.

Hypnotist: What explanation did they give to you for doing this to you?

Cindy: None.

Hypnotist: Weren’t you curious?

Cindy: No, I just wanted to go home. I didn’t really care as long as they just let me go.

Hypnotist: What other tests or things did they do to you?

Cindy: They cut my hand.

Hypnotist: Where did they cut it?

Cindy: Inside of it.

Hypnotist: You mean on the palm side. Where?

Cindy: On the upper part.

Hypnotist: Indicating just below the base of the middle two fingers. About 1 inch long. Is that about right?

Cindy: Yes

Hypnotist: Did they cut that or scrape it?

Cindy: They cut it but when they were done I couldn’t see whee they did it. It wasn’t cut there where I could feel it.

Hypnotist: You couldn’t see anything that happened to it after that?

Cindy: No.

Hypnotist: Did they do anything else to you?

Cindy: I can’t think of anything else. They just looked at me a lot.

Hypnotist: Did they put anything else on you besides these instruments for cutting and scraping? Did they put anything on your face or head?

Cindy: No.
