An Interview with Willie “Windwalker” Gibson

by Brent Raynes

Willie “Windwalker” Gibson has his own television program called “Spiritual Gifts and Wonders” on public access in Louisville, Kentucky, on Cable 98, at 6 p.m. on Saturday’s. He has appeared on The Shirley MacLaine radio show back in October 2004, and recently appeared on the CMT special Most Shocking Ghosts, wherein he visited the Bell Witch cave with a film crew. He contributes articles for New Age Magazine (http://www.newage- journal.com) and is the author of The Shaman Windwalker. Described as a paranormal consultant, a Native American shaman, and a UFO contactee, Mr. Gibson gives psychic readings (asks for $40.00 love offering) and may be reached at: Crystalchief55@aol.com.

Editor: Please describe a little about yourself and how you became personally involved in UFO and paranormal studies?

Willie “Windwalker” Gibson: Okay. I’m from Louisville, Kentucky. All of this started back when I was ten years old, and that was 1965. I wasn’t your average kid. I was overweight, had a bad leg. Kids didn’t really want to play with me, so I had to think of ways to entertain myself, so when the kids were out playing at school, at recess, they would go off and play their games and things, and the teacher would sit me down and tell me to sit there and watch everybody. So while I watched everybody I would get these thoughts and I would hear these voices, and I would just have a good time by myself. So that was mainly the start of it. I didn’t know what exactly it was. I just thought it was a vivid imagination.

Then in 1965, I was playing in my backyard. This was in early summer. I guess June, July. I was out in the backyard by myself and playing and doing my envisions and things like that and I happened to look up and saw this star in the sky. Now this was like at 5 o’clock in the evening. 5:30. It was still daylight out, so I kept watching it and watching it, and finally it got to be right over my head and this star had turned into what looked like an upside down bowl at this time. It had a lot of colors on the back, underneath of it, and as I watched it there was a flash of light and the next thing I knew it was dark, and I looked around and nothing was around, so I went into the house and sure enough it was like 8-8:30 in the evening. So I had lost roughly three hours, and that was my very first experience. At that time, I didn’t have any real memories. It wasn’t until later, when I started writing my book, The Shaman Windwalker, that things had started to come back to me.

Later on I started to develop things more strongly like hearing and clairaudience, clairsentience, seeing aura energies and things like that. I could see spirits more clearly. They would seem to be drawn to me. I guess it was my energy that drew them to me.

Editor: You have Cherokee ancestry and describe yourself as a shaman. Could you share with us your personal definition of a shaman, what you do, and what you have experienced?

Willie: Well I didn’t start experiencing shaman ways until I was in my thirties. I’m half Cherokee and half Irish. So I was brought up mostly in the Irish tradition. It wasn’t until I was ten years old that I was told that I was Cherokee and that I had a lot of Indian blood in me. Well, you can look at me and see that I’m Indian. I’m tan, I’ve got the cheek bones and the nose and all that. Typical Cherokee. But on the other side of my family I have an Irish grandmother, and you have red heads and blue eyes and it was kind of confusing for a kid my age, but I was brought up mostly in the Celtic type of things. I was brought up Christian.

I still am Christian. I believe in the Great Spirit. I believe in angels and guides. They work with me and I work with them all the time, and people say, “Well, being a shaman, aren’t you considered a pagan?” I said, “No, shaman is not pagan. Shaman works closely with the Great Spirit. Works with energies, works with the elements, works with herbs, and using my abilities and the paranormal and being a sensitive makes me that more attuned to the shaman ways.”

It wasn’t until like I said when I was in my thirties that I really started to go into the shamanic path. In 1984, my father passed, crossed the river, and after about two weeks that he was gone I came in from work and laid down on his bed and closed my eyes. Well, as soon as I closed my eyes I felt a tug in my foot, opened my eyes and there’s my father, smiling at me and floating. Dressed in white, and he was smiling at me. My father had died from complications of diabetes and he was in a hospital for six months and while he was in the hospital he lost both of his legs. Being Cherokee and Irish you can imagine what that did to the man’s spirit. But when he came back he pointed down and showed me that he had both of his legs. Well, that was a validation that there is a spirit world and when we leave here, no matter what’s wrong with us, we are whole across the river, or heaven.

In later years, I started to go to different teachers. I met my first teacher and she was a Native American and she showed me how to use my abilities, and how to do protections and things like that. It was rough because like I said I was brought up more Irish than Native American and I’m constantly learning different Native American language sayings and things like that. Things I should have been taught before now. I’m trying to catch up, and it’s hard to do when you’re doing a lot of other things.

My first taste of the shamanic ways actually, I’m going to go back a little bit, was in 1981. At that time, I was a peace officer and I was assigned to a piece of property that was Native American. I was kind of like guarding this Native American cemetery. One night it was raining and I was in my car and I seen this Indian started approaching the car and I got out and hollered at him. I said, “What are you doing here?” This Indian was dressed in like buckskins. He said, “I belong here” I said, “You need to come here.” So he walked over and I put him in the car. I said, “What are you doing here?” He said, “My name is Singing Fox and I’m here to protect the land.” I said, “You don’t need to be here because this is sacred land.” He said, “I know. This is what I’m doing here. I belong here. I am the protector of this land. My name is Singing Fox.” And just as he said that he disappeared. That was my first taste of a spirit and a shaman at that. Later on, in the weeks and months that became, I was in that area and he would show up and he would tell me things and show me things, and he would peak my interest, and it was at that time that he gave me the name “Windwalker.” So that’s why I’m known as Willie “Windwalker” Gibson and people of Native lore ask me, “What gives you the right to take the name Windwalker?” I say it was given to me by a shaman, and a spirit at that, and he told me to take it as part of my power.

I can do Native ritual just as good as I can stand up at a pulpit and preach, because in 1990 I became a Christian minister. People say, “You can’t be both.” Oh yes you can. That’s full of crap. People tell you that you can’t do this and you can’t do that. You can be a lot of things. I just combined shamanism with Christianity, or any other kind of religion. It all comes together and you’re all worshipping the same thing.

Editor: You described yourself as a contactee. Can you share with us some details about this, and has it been meaningful and positive for you?

Willie: Well like I said 1965 was my first experience. I really didn’t remember anything up until the time I decided to write the book and then memories started to come back. The memories that did come back weren’t too positive. I remember what they did when I was aboard the ship in 1965. These creatures were about three, four feet tall, thin, big head, big eyes. They call them greys but actually they’re blue-grey. No expression at all. Really long, slender fingers. I remember being on a table in a white room. I remember two or three of them being around the table. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t turn my head from side to side, but I could look straight ahead and they would kind of bend over me and kind of feel me, and all that kind of stuff. And I looked above my head and I could see this thing that looked like a long arm with a needle on it and I could see it coming down towards my head and that’s the last thing I remember about that until I found myself back in my backyard. And since then I’ve had several experiences through my life. I’ve probably been contacted or abducted maybe 40 times in the last 40 years. I’m almost 50 now. They come back sometimes every couple of years. Sometimes once a year. There’s nothing really you can do. Sometimes I could feel them in the area. My ears start to hum, ring, when I feel them, their energy around.

There was this one time that I can remember that I was on this table a humanoid was there, kind of Nordic looking, very tall, maybe 6' 5", muscular build, long blond hair, chisled features, kind of put me in mind of Fabio, that guy on the butter commercials. This time, when he started talking to me, he told me that the blue-greys were workers, that they do the bidding of the other beings. This time they introduced themselves as Platiums. He said, “Just call me Adam. It would be easier for you to do that.” When he talked to me it wasn’t like talking in words. It was more like an ESP thing. The thoughts came in my head and I answered him that way too. He just told me that from time to time they would come to visit and see how I was doing, that I would be doing some good work on earth with helping people. Their agenda, what I’m thinking, what I felt, was that they were doing something about the reproductive things and also at the same time I believe that they were going to try to help the earth in different ways. Why they don’t just land in the middle of the White House lawn and get out, I don’t know. There’s been some speculation that in 1947, Roswell is where it all began and they made some kind of deal with the aliens for technology. That’s where the stealth technology come from, and all of that kind of stuff. I tend to believe that. At various times in my life I have seen ships show up like orbs. I’ve seen orbs come down to my window and be floating there, about the size of a basketball, and then fly off. I’ve also seen what is known as the pearl, it looks like a giant pearl. I’ve seen cylindrical objects above my house. I’ve seen ships appear, as I drive down a street, just appear in front of me, but nobody else can see them. Whether I’m attuned to their vibration where they’re invisible, whatever, but I can see them. The last time that I can remember being contacted I think was back in October. I woke up and I had IV things on my arm. You know, IV sites, puncture wounds. Scrapes. So that told me they were there. I did take pictures of them. I haven’t got the pictures developed yet. I thought about doing a magazine article later on about that.

I’ve woke up and I’ve had stains on my shorts. You know, reddish-purplish fluid around my genital area. Things of that nature. So the way that I think about this is that whatever happens happens. There’s nothing I can do about it. When they come there’s nothing we can do about it. I’m frozen. I’m paralyzed. Sometimes I wake up on the table. Sometimes they do that and I don’t remember until a few days later. Now one time I did wake up and found a couple of them in my bedroom and they were putting my wife back to bed, so she took has been a contactee, or abductee, and there’s been times that she has woke up with black eyes, her nose has been swollen. One time I woke up and she had a green tint coming out of her nose, like something had been placed there. I have had an implant in the base of my neck for years. It’s a lump. It doesn’t go anyplace. I’ve been tagged so that’s the way they find me, no matter where I am. So there’s some positive things about this, like meeting Adam and talking to him and being put at ease, but I don’t like being probed and prodded and things stuck in me, so there’s some bad things about it too. It’s a wonderment to watch the crafts and things like that, but I don’t like to be forceably taken from my bed. If they would come in and say, “Would you like to come with us for a couple of hours?” I would go. But they don’t do that. They just do it and nothing you can do about it.

Women especially have traumatic experiences, having their eggs taken from them and there have been some abductees who have had actual fetuses removed from them and taken back. They would be abducted years later and shown their babies grown up. I had a friend once who had this done about four times and she was getting to come forward to do an expose about what happened to her and during these experiences she told me that she had people from the government come and talk to her and tell her she was crazy and this didn’t happen, and stuff like that. But she finally decided that she was going to come forward. Well, lo and behold, about a month before she was supposed to go testify at these hearings, she winds up dying in a fire. So, at that time, I decided to kind of cool it a little bit. I used to be a MUFON director here in Kentucky, but after that I kind of backed off a little bit, because I have had cars follow me, I have had strange phone calls, clicking on my phone, so in order to take some of the danger away from my family I backed off from it. Yeah, I write a story here and there, but the way I think the government will just say that I’m just another fanatic and call me crazy. That’s okay, because like I say I know what I’ve done and where I’ve been, and where I’m going, and UFOs are real. I’ve seen them. I’ve met with too many species. I think that eventually they will make contact in a way that cannot be hid.

This is what I wholeheartedly believe. In the next five or ten years, there will be a major sighting and a major meeting of alien technology and races.

Editor: What do you feel that your work in these areas is accomplishing. For instance, providing services for people wanting psychic readings, clearings, and haunting situations. You were even featured recently on a TV program about hauntings where you were visiting the famous Bell Witch cave.

Willie: Okay. A lot of people come to me for different things. Lately a lot of people have been awakening I think. A lot of die hard religious people like Catholics are starting to hear and see things and the vibration of the earth is waking them up, and they come to me for answers. And I sit down and talk with them, and a lot of them want to taught how to focus, how to meditate, how to contact. As far as ghosts go, it depends on what the situation is. A case by case thing. A lot of times I will go into a haunting situation and sure I clear out the place of the energy. A lot of times it’s called residual haunting where the building, or whatever area it is, is like a tape recording. It’s got that energy built into it and all I have to do is go in and clean it out.

A lot of people have what’s called unfinished business. They might be murdered. Their bodies might not have been found, or something like that, and I deal with that. A lot of people are bound here by people just grieving and won’t let their spirit go on to the other side. A lot of spirits don’t know that they’ve crossed, and I have to help them over to the other side. A lot of healing energies. There’s a lot of things about the earth that people don’t know. The earth is a living organism. You can draw from it to heal, you can draw from it to do a lot of things. I have worked hand-in-hand with cancer patients. I tell them, don’t quit your doctor. Go to the doctor and do what you need to do, but if you want to come here for extra energy and stuff like that, I’ve done that and it’s helped them out tremendously. I’ve helped a lot of people in situations where they have been abused as kids and sat down and counseled them and helped them out tremendously. I have helped people who have had people commit suicide that think that their spirit is still on earth. There’s one house in particular where the mother and daughter came to me and said that their brother and son committed suicide in the house and they think the spirit was in the house, so I checked it out and sure enough the spirit was there. The reason he was there he wanted to tell his mother and his sister that it was not their fault. It was on him and he had problems. Now that he knew they could be at peace with it he went on and the house is clear now. Exorcisms, called deliverances, I’ve done maybe a half dozen of those. It takes awhile. It’s a really challenging thing. People say, “Well you’re just dealing with a person that’s crazy.” Look, you have to be there and experience it to really know what’s going on.

There’s a paranormal world out there and I’ve learned to tap into it and use it in many ways. I have sometimes been asked by law enforcement, which I will not tell you which one, to help out in missing persons. Worked on cases in the U.K. on missing persons. I have been asked by law enforcement agencies what I thought about certain crimes. Maybe cult crimes. Satanic ritual type crimes. I’ve worked on those. People might not acknowledge me, but they do use me behind the scenes, and that’s okay. As long as the work is done and I do what I need to do. Like I said, I have been ordained as a Christian minister. I do believe in God, the Great Spirit. I believe in angels and guides. They work with us everyday. I contact them everyday. So does my wife. Although I may not sit in a traditional church and sing and go on like that, I do have my own little service I do here at the house. I use a lot of Native American flavor, medicine wheels and earth and feathers, and things like that, and we pray to the Great Spirit just like you would do in a Catholic Church, or (any) Christian church. I believe that people have their own beliefs and they should be able to acknowledge them anyway they want to. It all goes to the same place. It all goes to the same Creator. Just a different name.

Editor: Do you have any thoughts, either psychic or speculative, as to what the future may hold for us with regard to the ongoing UFO phenomenon, and the evolving new consciousness and spiritual explorations?

Willie: Well, like I said before, I think that UFOs have an agenda. I think that it’s more or less saving their own species and helping us to evolve into a better species. I do believe that they think that, and I believe this too, think that we are destroying ourselves. Little by little. Whether it be pollution or wars, there’s only gonna be a matter of time before something really bad is...9/11 was bad, but anybody can bring a dirty bomb or a nuclear bomb into an area in a briefcase and let it go. I foresee this probably might happen and also with the germ warfare too.

I do believe that there will be a major landing here soon. Maybe within the next five years to where the UFOs will come to light and we’ll see who these beings are and what they want. There’s nothing we can do about it. There are many different species that are here on earth that are either watching us or working with us or being diabolical against us. Whatever it is. I do believe that Mars has had life on it, and still does. I believe that there might be something going on on the moon, on the far side. That’s why we haven’t been back. A lot of psychics and a lot of scientists and a lot of people that I’ve met in this field believe that there is a base there on the moon someplace, and I believe it too because these crafts have to disappear to someplace. I do believe that they do go interdimensional. As far as coming from other planets they do have the ability for warp drive and wormholes and stuff like that, so there’s no doubt in my mind that they come from other planets. I believe that the greys come from Zeta Reticula. I believe that the Platiums are here. I believe that they’re on the earth walking around. They’re human enough that you wouldn’t know that they’re from another world or from Nebraska. They’re human.

I do believe that there is a great spiritual awakening, a great spiritual self-consciousness awakening. The earth is on a different vibrational mode. That’s why we had the tsunami and the earth quakes and we have the volcanoes starting to erupt. The earth has tilted a little bit and the energy and the vibes have changed. I have felt this, and so have other sensitives that I’ve talked to. A lot of people who have been blocked spiritually and consciously are starting to wake up and coming to people like me trying to learn things and feel things, and they see and hear things that have to be explained to them, and that’s what I do.

As far as being a shaman, that’s the title I was given by Singing Fox in 1981. I’ve taken that and developed it into a type of spiritual development to where I can go and preach in a church or I can do ritual, Native American things too. It all blends in together. People see me when I do readings and things like that, and if it’s the first time and they say, “How do you know this?” I just put myself in attune with their aura and I feel these things. I do read my Native American medicine cards, but that’s just a focal point. It’s not magic. It’s just cardboard that I use for meditational development to put me on a right path to where I want to go with this reading. I do a lot of cold readings, and like I said I do most of my stuff as energy work. I channel sometimes. I don’t do it all of the time. It takes a lot out of me when I do it, but when I do it is for a reason, and for a teaching method too.
