X-Sightings: Recent UFO and Paranormal Reports

May 22, 2003 - approx. 6:30 p.m. - near Calama, Chile, community of San Pedro. Four 16-year- old boys and a 42-year-old man observed six small beings, dark grey and hairless, with large oval- shaped heads and pointed ears, small oval eyes and large noses, who stood approx. 60 cm tall. The beings emerged from a nearby thicket. In the report prepared by Jaime Ferrer R., of the Calama UFO Center (and translated by Scott Corrales of the Institute of Hispanic Ufology), emerge these incredible details of the alleged encounter: “....the beings began to play, jumping into the air and bumping different parts of their bodies deliberately. They also scratched the ground, kicking up dirt and stones. During the entire duration of the incident, some 10 minutes, all perceived a strong odor of rotten eggs and sulfur. All claim that the beings looked at them and laughed grotesquely, a situation which surely inspired fear in them.” For several minutes the startled witnesses could only watch, perhaps paralyzed with fear and on account of being startled. Then the beings stopped “playing” and headed for a group of lambs that had gathered together in fear. The report continues: “One of these beings jumped on one of the lambs in a single bound, like someone mounting a horse. The rest of the animals huddled in one end of their pen. This being began to ‘play’ with the lamb, squeezing it with its legs and then digging its claws into its neck. The lamb only shivered and moaned, not moving. Later, 4 of the creatures surrounded the animal, raining blows upon it until it fell. At that time, the 6 beings began clawing at the lamb’s flesh with violent scratches and extreme hatred, as it bawled desperately. The witnesses could see pieces of flesh with that lamb’s wool flying off, but could only be spectators to the event.” Then the man reportedly shook himself out of his stupor and began throwing rocks at the creatures. “All witnessed how the creatures dodged the rocks, laughing even more strongly and grotesquely, a situation which filled them with fear once more. But after this, they ceased their attack upon the lamb and regrouped, jumping and ‘playing’ until they reached the place they had appeared from, vanishing into the thicket.” The group of witnesses then approached the wounded lamb, and because of the seriousness of its injuries and that it was going into “spasms,” the man went ahead and killed it.

July 23, 2003 - approx. 9:15 p.m. - San Pedro, Chile. Three 16-year-old boys (involved in the May 22nd incident just cited) were frightened when something produced knocking and scratching sounds on the door to the house they were in. The young men became very fearful and grabbing mattresses and blankets covered themselves as they huddled in one corner of the house. After some 3-5 minutes the sounds ceased, and cautiously one of the young men glanced out a window and then opened the door. “It’s all right, boys-it’s gone!” he said. Then all three had stepped outside, when about 15 meters away, standing near some pear trees, they observed a frightening sight. A creature about a meter and a half tall, with wings measuring at least 3.5 meters. It was covered with glossy black skin, clean and hairless, with wings that made them think of a bat’s wings, or else those of what a prehistoric pterodactyl would have presumably looked like. It’s head was large, though it had a small beak, and it had immense black eyes. It’s legs were sturdy with what looked to be powerful claws on its feet. Then the creature began to flap its wings, which caused the trees in front of it to shake, and then it became airborne and disappeared into the darkness of the night.

August 2, 2003 - 7:45 p.m. - Bristol, Tennessee. Man who describes himself as having had 13 years in the military and proficient at aircraft identification, reported that he, his son and his wife watched a UFO off in a north-northwest direction from their home. His son and he initially spotted it while standing in their driveway. “At first, I thought it to be a balloon and called my wife to bring the binoculars,” he wrote. “This object, through the binoculars, was flattened, perfectly disc shaped and was wobbling and rolling side to side and up and down. It did grow a little closer to us and it reflected sunlight as it turned. Positively metallic, smooth and disc shaped. We watched it for a while and I ran in and got the camcorder and digital camera. I have about 5 minutes of absolutely fantastic footage on the tape, but the digital camera failed miserably. The object slowly moved NNW until it was out of sight. ...All I can say is I got proof.”

Peter Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center stated that they had spoken with this witness by phone and that “he sounds adamant as to having captured a UFO on video.” At present they had seen “still images taken from the video” that “indicate a round, dark object against a daylight sky.” A video was allegedly mailed to NUFORC and will doubtless be subjected to careful scrutiny.
